About Us

" Gerrit, seriously, you can't turn EVERYTHING with those giant tongs. " I shook my head as he casually tried to turn a tiny tomato with his XXL tongs. "Jan, let the pros do the work!" I looked at him, he looked at me – and then we both started laughing.
My name is Jan, that's Gerrit at the grill, and when we're not at the grill, we're in our little workshop in the Rhineland. Because somehow, our endless discussions about the perfect grill accessories eventually turned into a brand. But let's start from the beginning.

How it all began

We've known each other since school. Back then, we talked more about burgers and steaks than math—and to be honest, that hasn't changed to this day. We tested every conceivable piece of grilling equipment, getting annoyed by slippery cutting boards, bad tongs, and unnecessary junk. And at some point, one of us—I claim it was me, Gerrit claims the opposite—said, "Why isn't there anything that's just really well thought out?" Instead of looking for an answer, we started. Without a grand concept, but with a lot of enthusiasm, we built things ourselves. First for ourselves, then for friends—and at some point we realized: Apparently, there are more people out there who are annoyed by the same things as us.

From the first board

to your own workshop

We didn't rent fancy offices or approach investors. We simply found a small workshop, got some machines, and got started. And because everything happens around a barbecue, work sessions turned into barbecue evenings, and prototypes turned into things we didn't want to let go of.

What is important to us?

We're not a factory. We don't have mass production. We make the things ourselves, with real hands and genuine enthusiasm. And if we don't like something, it doesn't make it into the shop. It's that simple.
So, if you're like us—welcome to HOTTY. And if you're ever in the area, the grill is probably firing up. ;)
